Summer is still very much here—the long evenings, the farmers market mornings, the linen dresses, the last-minute plans—but somewhere in the background, I can feel Fall waiting patiently for her turn.
And if I'm being honest, Fall is my season.
I love summer, I do. But give me a crisp morning, a reason to wear a jacket, a candle burning on the kitchen counter, and the first hint of that golden, slightly moody light, and suddenly I'm ready to rearrange my entire life.
I know. We technically have a whole month of summer left.
But I'm ready.
So this month's August Musts are all about that in-between moment—the pieces that make sense right now but will feel just as good when the calendar turns. Think easy layers, beautiful textures, warm neutrals, and those little things that make the transition into a new season feel effortless rather than forced.
Because I'm not quite ready to put away the sandals.
But I am ready for the sweater.
The Layer
This is the month for the piece you'll reach for when the morning starts cool and the afternoon remembers it's still August.
A lightweight jacket, an oversized button-down, a vintage-inspired cardigan—something with just enough structure to make a simple summer dress feel completely new.
I love a wardrobe piece that earns its keep, and transitional layers are some of the hardest-working things in my closet.
Wear it over linen now. Throw it over denim later. Suddenly, you're dressed.

The Dress
I'm always looking for a dress that can cross seasons.
Something easy enough for August but with enough shape, color, or texture to make sense once the leaves start changing.
Pair it with sandals and a basket bag now. Add boots, a jacket, and a little more attitude later.
Same dress. Completely different mood.
And isn't that the dream?
The Texture
August is when I start craving texture.
Woven pieces. Soft cotton. Suede. A little leather. A beautiful knit waiting patiently for cooler weather.
Texture is one of my favorite ways to make a space—or an outfit—feel layered without looking like you tried too hard.
And really, the best things always feel a little undone.

Buy the things you'll love in September.
That's really the whole philosophy behind this month's edit.
I'm not interested in rushing through summer just because I happen to love what comes next. Instead, I'm looking for those beautiful little bridges between seasons—the pieces that feel right today and even better a few weeks from now.
Because isn't that what getting dressed, decorating your home, and collecting beautiful things should be about?
Finding what feels like you.
And then finding a way to make it work for wherever you are headed next.
So yes, I'm still ordering the iced coffee.
I'm still wearing the linen.
I'm still going to squeeze every last drop out of summer.
But if you see me in a jacket come August 15th, mind your business.
Fall is coming, and I, for one, am very ready.
