JANUARY, INTENTIONALLY
January was a threshold month—quiet, expansive, and full of possibility. This year, I welcomed it intentionally.
I began the month with a solo trip to the coast, a familiar ritual that never fails to ground me. Long walks, moody skies, salt air, and uninterrupted time to think. I spent those days reflecting on the year behind me—projects I’m proud of, lessons learned, moments that stretched me—and dreaming up goals for 2026. There’s something about being near the ocean that makes clarity come easily. Fewer distractions. Bigger perspective. It was exactly the reset I needed..

Mid-month, I traded the cool, misty Pacific Northwest for California sunshine (let's be honest, partly sunny) for a very special *and very top secret meeting. One of those moments that reminds you why you do the work you do—the kind that leaves you buzzing with excitement and itching for the day you can finally share more. Soon enough.
While in California, I carved out time to catch up with our CA team over some gluten free bites and orange wine—one of my favorite ways to reconnect. These moments of togetherness matter so much to me. The laughter, the conversations, the shared vision—it’s the heartbeat behind the work. The trip was also filled with purveying, sourcing, and soaking up inspiration, capped off by a very special presentation: our Pasadena Cottage new build. This one feels especially close to home as our clients are victims of the Los Angeles fire. More than anything, we want this new home to be everything they deserve. Seeing the vision come to life in such a meaningful way was a true highlight of the month.
January also brought an unexpected honor: being included in The Expert’s Top 40 and named their Rising Star of the Year. I’m incredibly grateful to be recognized alongside such inspiring talent—an affirming moment that made this month feel even more meaningful!

And finally, January wrapped with a trip to New York City—a place that never fails to spark my creativity. There’s an energy there that feels electric and grounding all at once. I had some fun meetings lined up, and as always, spent a good chunk of time exploring, sourcing, and eating my way through the city. Museums, neighborhoods, tucked-away shops, late dinners—it all fed the creative well in ways nothing else quite does.
January was reflective, inspiring, and quietly momentous. A month of dreaming, building, reconnecting, and looking ahead. I’m stepping into the rest of the year energized and deeply grateful.
