JULY
July was one of those months that seem to hold an entire season of life inside them.
On July 1st, Molly Kidd Studio turned two years old.
Two years of creating homes that feel deeply personal. Two years of conversations, trust, beautiful projects, unexpected opportunities, and a community that continues to grow in ways I never could have imagined. It felt less like a milestone to celebrate and more like one to sit with. If you missed the letter I shared reflecting on year two, you can read it here—it says everything my heart wanted to say.
A few days later, I was on a plane to Italy.
Rome welcomed me first, followed by Florence, before settling into the Tuscan countryside for the better part of a week. Europe has always had a way of slowing me down and reminding me to trust the process.
Maybe it's the long dinners that stretch into the evening. Maybe it's cities built to be wandered instead of rushed through. Maybe it's the reminder that beauty isn't something reserved for special occasions—it lives in the everyday.
It's in the worn stone streets. Fresh flowers outside neighborhood markets. Linen drying in the breeze. Espresso standing at the counter. A table thoughtfully set, even on an ordinary Tuesday.
As a designer, I come home with pages of inspiration.
As a person, I come home with perspective.
This trip gave me something I wasn't expecting: a deeper appreciation for life exactly as it's happening. Not because everything is perfect, but because it doesn't have to be.
I found myself paying attention differently. Looking up more. Lingering longer. Appreciating simple moments instead of rushing toward the next one.
It's a mindset I hope stays long after the passport is tucked away.
Back home, July moved quickly.
I jumped right into a presentation before heading to Orange County to celebrate a team member's wedding, closing out a month that felt completely surrounded by love.
It's funny how often weddings remind me why I do what I do. At the heart of every celebration is a space intentionally created for people to gather, connect, and make memories. In many ways, that's exactly what good design should do every single day.
As I look ahead to the second half of the year, I'm feeling incredibly grateful.
Grateful for every client who trusts Molly Kidd Studio with their home.
Grateful for this community that's here—whether you've been following since day one or just recently found your way here.
And grateful for a month that reminded me that inspiration isn't something you chase. Sometimes it simply finds you when you make enough room to notice.
