LIFE LATELY: SEPTEMBER

LIFE LATELY: SEPTEMBER

SEPTEMBER FROM THE STUDIO & SHOP!

September drifted by with a quiet kind of grandeur. After the energy of summer, there’s a comfort in the autumnal shift: a vintage shop launch, project presentations, an install, fresh ideas taking root, projects unfolding, and long-awaited visions finally coming to life.

The month kicked off with a whirlwind trip to Los Angeles, where I tucked a few very exciting meetings into a sun-soaked few days of inspiration. There’s something about LA in early fall; the golden light, the texture of the city, that always leaves me with new ideas.

I also had the joy of presenting two client projects this month—both deeply personal and beautifully layered. Walking clients through the vision, materials, and moodboards I’ve curated was not only rewarding, but a reminder of why I love this process so much. I can’t wait to share more soon! Perhaps most excitingly, on the very first day of fall, I launched something near and dear to me: my new website. It’s more than a refresh; it’s a reflection of the studio's evolving identity, and it now includes a very special corner I’ve been dreaming up for years: my vintage shop. It’s our Debut drop-- a collection of pieces I’ve gathered over time; things with soul, history, and a perfectly imperfect charm. The kinds of pieces that make a room feel lived in and loved. We sold more than 50% of the items within 12 hours and I cannot wait to see them in homes across the nation. Drop 02 coming sooner than you think!

My own backyard project began this month! Nearly two years into our home, and the Martha Stewart gardener in me is beyond thrilled. Natural textures, a European garden sensibility—Our house continues to grow with us, layer by layer, memory by memory.

Another true pinch-me moment this month: my first piece for Home & Gardens article was published. I had the honor of writing about why brown has become my signature color, and I’ll be contributing regularly to their By Design column as editor-at-large. It’s a publication I’ve admired for as long as I’ve loved houses (which is to say, always), and I couldn’t be more excited. My second article—on my Pacific Northwest roots—just went live last week.

We wrapped up September with a beautiful install in Nevada Hills...Eight months ago, I walked into this house and saw not only what it was, but what it could become. A Monday conversation quickly turned into a Thursday flight to Las Vegas, and by Friday, a new chapter had begun. This marks our very first Nevada project—a chance to reimagine MKS within the desert landscape. None of it would have been possible without clients who led with trust and a team who poured so much of themselves into the work. At the end of the install, standing in the stillness of a finished space, I was reminded once again how grateful I am to do what I love—alongside such extraordinary people. We ended the special reveal with a celebratory client dinner at Mother Wolf LV, it was incredible! Shop all of my install looks here.

Fun fact: Demo starts today on our Christmas Tree Farm project.

As we step fully into fall, I’m savoring slow mornings, layers of linen and wool, and the scent of rain in the air.

October feels beautifully FULL. Next week I’ll be speaking at Desert Design, followed by a stretch of client meetings and the possibility of new projects taking shape. The month ends on a personal note—with time in Paris and a birthday celebration in Nice.

Until next month..
